Mindfulness

Becoming more aware of the present moment can help us to enjoy the world around us more and understand ourselves better. This is a really important part of self-care and filling our own cup first; unless we take care of ourselves, we can’t look after others in our care as well as we would like to.

When we become more aware of the present moment, we begin to experience afresh things that we have been taking for granted. As Moms, we often eat without tasting and are so busy with our commitments that we forget what it is that brings us the joy in life. Mindfulness is a reminder of the everyday things, those little things that bring us satisfaction, happiness and most importantly, refill our cup.

Our Faith gives significant importance to mindfulness; from renewing intentions to being more aware in our daily prayers. Below are some really informative resources that explain mindfulness from an Islamic perspective:
One Path Network
Yaqeen Institute
Salam Family

Islamic mindfulness apps are now also available:

MINDFULNESS FOR CHILDREN

Studies and experience show that teaching mindfulness to children from an early age helps them to self-regulate their behaviour. It helps them to understand their emotions and learn to manage them better.
Below are a few of our favourite resources which we often include in our sessions:
